The job you already do
A spreadsheet, a group chat and a pencil
The sheet only opens properly on the laptop you left at home. The handicaps are in a message from March. Somebody has the card in a back pocket and it has been raining since the ninth.
None of that is a failure of organisation. It is four days of scoring being held together by one person with no signal and a pint in the other hand. score70 takes the parts that are mechanical — the shots, the points, the totals, the arguing — and leaves you the parts that are actually yours.

The trip gets an address
You name it — a trip, a single day, or a season for a league that runs April to October on a best-of rule — and you choose its web address. score70 checks it against every other trip as you type, so once it is yours nobody else can take it. That address is the trip, not a tab in your downloads folder.
Nobody else signs up
This is deliberate, and it is written into the permission rules rather than left to chance. Anyone you send the link to can read the trip and enter a score. No account, no app, no password on the first tee with one bar of signal.
The handicap maths is done
Course handicap off slope, course rating and par, the way the World Handicap System sets it out. Full handicap in stableford, the full difference in singles, 90 per cent of it in four-balls, allocated hole by hole down the stroke index.
It works with no signal
Every tap is written to the phone first and queued there, so it survives the app being killed. When a bar comes back the queue replays and the rest of the group catches up. This is the difference between a scorecard and a spreadsheet.
Year two takes minutes
Enter it once, keep it forever
Players and courses belong to your group, not to a single trip. Type the twelve names and their handicap indexes once. Add the course with its slope, rating and stroke index once. Next year you pick who is coming, and you are done.
Trip adjustments. Cut a shot off the man who has been quietly improving all winter, for this trip only. His stored handicap index never moves, so next year starts from the truth.
The record stays. Every round played stays attached to the group. Who won what is a thing you look up, not a thing you remember.

Whatever kind of group you run
A golf society day
A handful or a full field, everyone on their own card, every four-ball’s scores on one board as they go in. Stableford for the day, a team game on top if you like, and the roster is there next month.
A golf trip away
Three or four days, two sides for a Ryder Cup, a different game every round. Match play, four-ball and points games all count for the Cup, and the stableford order of merit runs underneath.
A league season
A weekly roll-up or a summer league, April to October, with a season table on a best-of rule. Every round played stays on the record, and an eclectic can build across the season.

Questions organisers ask
Do the players need an app or an account?
No. You send one link, and anyone with it can open the trip and enter scores in their phone’s browser. Only the organiser has an account.
Does it work with no phone signal?
Yes. Every score is saved on the phone first and queued there, so it survives the app being closed. When a signal comes back the queue sends itself and the rest of the group catches up.
How are the handicaps worked out?
Course handicap comes from each player’s handicap index and the tee’s slope, course rating and par, as the World Handicap System sets out. Each format then applies its own allowance, such as the full handicap in stableford or 90 per cent of the gap in a four-ball, and you can change it on any round.
Can I use it for a golf society or a league, not just a trip?
Yes. Players and courses belong to your group rather than to one trip, so the roster is typed once and every day out reuses it. A trip, a single day and a league season are set up the same way.
Can the players change the setup or delete a round?
No. Anyone with the link can view the trip and enter or edit hole scores. Creating and deleting rounds, editing handicaps and managing the roster are the organiser’s alone.
What does it cost?
Nothing. There are no plans, no player limits and no card to enter, and if that ever changes the pricing page will say so first.
What the account is, plainly
An email and a password, and here is what it is for
It gives the trip an owner. Handicaps, rounds and the setup answer to one person, and that person is you. It also puts a name on the scores you enter, so when four phones have been passed round all day, the card knows who typed what.
That is the whole of it. It is not a paywall and there is no card to enter. It buys nobody else anything either: the rest of the group never signs up, and registering as a player grants no extra powers — only the trip’s organiser can change the trip.
