The short answer
Who each one suits
Golfify suits you if…
- You run small events of 8 or fewer, or are happy to pay for a bigger field.
- You want nearest-the-pin and longest-drive contests, a TV board or a board embedded on your website today.
score70 suits you if…
- Your field is bigger than 8 and you would rather not pay per season.
- You want British society formats like Bowmaker, Irish Rumble or Russian Stableford.
- You want WHS course handicaps worked out from UK course ratings, and mixed tees in one group.
- You need scoring that carries on with no signal.
Credit where it is due
What Golfify does well
- Builds an event on the web or in the app, “idea to leaderboard in minutes”.[1]
- Nearest-the-pin and longest-drive contests, divisions, quota and Ryder Cup match play.[1]
- Public leaderboards anyone can follow “without joining”, a TV display and a board you can embed in a website.[1]
- Free for players.[1]
- Rated 4.8 on Google Play, from 84 ratings when we checked.[2]

Plainly
What score70 does not do
- No GPS, distances, shot tracking or watch app.
- No official score posting: rounds do not go to England Golf or your WHS record.
- No nearest-the-pin or longest-drive markers yet, no TV board yet.
- No foursomes or greensomes yet.
- Fewer courses than the big apps: more than 1,800 UK courses, with the card typed in for anywhere else.
- No social feed, by design, and no push notifications.
What it does do, it does without asking anything of the players: one link, a tap on their name, and they are scoring.
Free, and nothing for the players to install
Try it on your next round
Make the organiser account, add the players and the course, and send one link to the group. Everyone else just taps their name.
